Adele’s record-breaking single may have just come out a little over  weeks ago, but that didn’t stop British rockers The Maccabees from covering the song on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

Hello” broke records across the world, rocketing to the No. 1 slot on the Billboard Hot 100and becoming the first single to ever sell at least 1 million downloads in a week.

So the song must have seemed like an obvious choice for The Maccabees when the band was asked to cover a song for the Radio 1 program, which specializes in new and fun covers of current pop hits.

And their sweeping, stirring indie version of the song had no problems fitting on this big of a stage.

Adele’s “Hello” quickly became one of the biggest singles of the digital music era, debuting atop the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming the first song to surpass one million digital sales in a single week. Meanwhile, BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge has long been known for inviting artists to play interesting covers of popular contemporary songs, so when British rock group. The Maccabees were in the studio earlier today, they put their own spin on the monolithic ballad, picking up the tempo to give the soaring tune an indie rock edge.

Go to the post to watch The Maccabees  reimagine Adele’s ‘Hello’ for a unique cover

You can’t turn on the radio without hearing Adele’s new tune ‘Hello’ rn, can ya? In fact we can barely even call our best mate without the whole ridiculous ‘hellooo…it’s meee’ spiel. ANYWAY, what we’re getting at here is that The Maccabees of indie band fame have covered ‘Hello’ in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge and it’s really good.

It’s totally different from Conor Maynard’s cover and David Attenborough isn’t narrating this one, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome. You kinda have to learn the melody all over again ‘cos it’s nothing like the original, but we’re down for that. It’s not like we have any work to be doing or anything.
