Ben Haggerty, also known by his stage name of Macklemore, joined forces with producer Ryan Lewis and Mary Lambert to promote equality as they make a song that’s for the LGBT community
The main point of the song is that homosexuality is the “same” kind of love as heterosexuality, and people need to quit being homophobes and embrace the homosexual lifestyle.
When the song was song the crowd responded by cheering louder than they had all night. His fans obviously love the song and embrace its call for equality and it was Mary who crystallized it so heartbreakingly with chorus line: “I can’t change, even if I wanted to. My love… she keeps me warm.”
In addition to being painfully aware of the potential impact “Same Love” upon release might not have been aware of its possible consequences.
